Rural Area Veterinary Services: Expanding Access to Animal Health Care

For more than two decades, the Rural Area Veterinary Services RAVS program has been pioneering a solution for animal health care in underserved rural communities. The program is dedicated to addressing gaps in veterinary services by offering immediate relief and promoting community resilience through accessible health resources.

The RAVS team has provided essential care for over 170,000 animals with services valued at more than $33 million, all without charging the clients or communities we serve. Our field trning initiatives have transformed the lives of more than 9,700 veterinary professionals and students by equipping them with practical skills and deepened understanding of rural animal care issues.

RAVS operates through three core strategies:

  1. Direct Care Services: Providing timely medical interventions to alleviate suffering and support animal health while strengthening community well-being.

  2. Professional Trning and Mentorship: Rsing awareness about veterinary challenges in rural areas, offering real-world clinical experience, and empowering individuals to drive innovative solutions for the sector's growth.

  3. Community Development: Building local capacity by supporting self-sustning animal care resources and facilitating long-term service programs that benefit both animals and community members.

Our commitment is bolstered by dedicated volunteers and generous donors who believe in our mission of ing animal suffering globally. Your involvement, whether through volunteering or making a tax-deductible contribution, will enable us to continue expanding access to essential veterinary services.
