Project Street Vet is a nonprofit organization classified under 501c3 that empowers veterinary tea provide professional, non-judgmental medical care and support for pet families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Our vision is to create a world where every pet family can access vet care.

Our founder, Dr. Kwane Stewart, has been recognized as the 2023 CNN Hero of the Year. He was awarded this title for his dedication and efforts in delivering veterinary services on the streets to pets belonging to those facing homelessness or housing vulnerability. This award underscores our commitment to addressing a critical societal need.

Pets Are Family Too

Approximately 10-25 of the U.S.'s homeless population has a pet. Project Street Vet is dedicated to providing compassionate, kind support without judgment to these pets and their families who most need it. Our mission began when Dr. Kwane Stewart, a veteran in this field, started traveling city streets, bringing veterinary care and supplies to pets owned by individuals experiencing homelessness.
